"Why do I get a death sentence and not her? She's a thief and a liar, and when I die, she's coming with me!" the former queen screeched as the guards dragged her down the dank, dark hall.
"You're insane. Queen Snow White did nothing to you, and you tried to kill her," one of the men replied.
"Just hear me out! Listen to what I have to say, for once!" Snow White's stepmother struggled to break free of the guards' iron grips.
"Fine, we'll listen to your little story, but you're still going to be executed tomorrow. And remember, it's your word against fifteen others, so you've got to have some very strong evidence."
She was shoved into a cell, the door locked tight. There was no saying what kind of magic she could use to get out, but her focus didn't seem to be on escape anymore. One of the guards left, but the other one pulled up a stool and sat in front of the cell.
